Join us

Art classes are ongoing, designed for all levels, and can be joined at any time during the year.

Whether it’s your first time picking up a paintbrush or you’re an experienced artist exploring new techniques, each class is tailored to the individual student, providing guidance and support to help you achieve your artistic goals.

Classes are small, with a maximum of 9 students, allowing you to explore any medium and technique of your choice, from oil, acrylic or watercolour painting to mixed-media techniques and drawing with pencils, charcoal, or pastels. You can master specific techniques, experiment with different styles, and build foundational academic drawing and painting skills at your own pace.

Most importantly, the focus is on enjoying the creative process and celebrating your personal achievements.

  • Art classes for adults offer a warm, relaxed, and nurturing environment where you can work on your own projects while enjoying the support of a creative and welcoming community.

I teach all painting (oil, acrylic, watercolour) and drawing techniques, working individually with each student to provide personalised guidance. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced artist, the classes are tailored to your skill level, style preferences, and chosen subject or medium.

You’ll find inspiration through exposure to new techniques and styles, while also building strong foundational skills in the academic approach to drawing and painting. Most importantly, my goal is for you to experience the joy of creating and the satisfaction of personal achievement.

Each session lasts 2 hours, and the classes are ongoing, so you can join anytime and book week by week depending on your availability. To keep the atmosphere focused and supportive, class sizes are limited to 9 students. Advance booking is recommended, simply choose the time that works best for you.

  • If you would like extra support to work on a special project, explore a particular technique in depth, or simply prefer one-to-one learning, I offer private art classes tailored to your needs.

Each session lasts 2 hours and can be scheduled at a time that suits you, allowing you to focus entirely on your artistic goals at your own pace.

Throughout the year, I run art courses and art workshops in my art studio, a welcoming space to relax, create, and share ideas.

Art courses are designed to further develop your skills, explore new techniques, and provide opportunities to learn, experiment, and inspire one another.

Art workshops are a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon, exploring your creativity, trying out new techniques, and enjoying a relaxed, social environment, either with friends or as part of a friendly group of creatives.

No previous art experience is needed, and all art materials are provided.

I also offer corporate team-building art workshops, designed to spark creativity and collaboration in a relaxed, engaging environment. Previous clients include Facebook, LinkedIn, MCCP Brand Strategy Agency, Pitman Training, and Reputation Inc.

You can find details of the ongoing art courses and art workshops below.

I also run special one-off art courses and art workshops, keep an eye on the What’s On section for upcoming opportunities to join in.

  • Discover the world of colour through a hands-on art course covering both the theory and practice of colour, colour interaction, contrast, and the concept of harmonious contrast. The content is inspired by the works of two influential artistic figures in colour theory and art education:  Johannes Itten and Josef Albers.

No prior art experience is needed, just curiosity and an interest in exploring creativity.

Perfect for anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of colour in art and design.

  • Explore the fundamentals of portrait drawing in this beginner-friendly course. Designed for everyone with little or no drawing experience, as well as those wishing to improve their skills, the course covers essential techniques for creating realistic portraits, capturing the likeness of the model, with a focus on facial proportions, facial features, anatomy, and shading methods.

Advance booking essential, no experience necessary.

All art materials and refreshments (tea, coffee, water) provided.

  • Turn your ideas into art you can wear!

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll transform a garment of your choice into your very own wearable artwork. Whether it’s a t-shirt, shirt, jacket, trousers, or denim piece, you’ll learn to paint, decorate, and personalize it with fabric paints, brushes, and markers.

This workshop is designed for everyone, no previous art experience is needed.

All art materials are provided, along with a surprise gift, and refreshments including tea, coffee, and water.

You can also book this workshop as a private event, perfect for spending a Sunday afternoon creating alongside friends, co-workers, or family members.

What to bring: One or more garments you’d like to paint on (white or bright colours work best for vibrant results).

  • Team-building art workshops are a creative and enjoyable way to enhance individual well-being, encourage teamwork, and foster creative thinking and problem-solving skills in the workplace.

Designed to be relaxing and engaging, the workshops are accompanied by soft background music and focus on communication, connection, and collaboration. Participants work towards a shared objective while enjoying the process of creating together.

Each workshop is customised to meet the specific needs of your company. No previous art experience is required, and all materials are provided. Sessions typically last 2–3 hours.

Come join us!

At Anca Danila Art Studio, we celebrate creativity and community, by organising two exhibitions each year, showcasing the amazing artworks created by the students. These events are a great way to celebrate achievements and talent, while also offering a special opportunity to connect beyond the studio’s art classes.

The exhibitions bring our community together, students, friends, families, and art lovers, creating space to share, support, and be inspired by one another.

For newcomers, they are the perfect chance to engage with the artistic community formed in the studio and experience the joy of art in a warm, welcoming setting.

About me

My name is Anca Danila, I am a visual artist originally from Transylvania, Romania, and based in Dublin. I hold a BA and MA in Fine Arts.

My passion for creating connections through art inspired me to set up Anca Danila Art Studio in the heart of Dublin, a creative and welcoming space where artists of all levels can learn together, develop their creative skills, and share their love for art.

With over 10 years’ teaching experience, I enjoy guiding students as they explore their talents and express their creativity. I believe art fosters strong communities and bridges cultural connections, and I cherish the small artistic community that has formed around my art studio. Through art classes, courses, workshops, and collaborative projects, I love bringing people together, making creativity a space for dialogue, connection, and shared experience.

I am part of the Artist Panel at Hugh Lane Gallery and have had the pleasure, over the years, of leading a variety of art courses, workshops, and sketching tours at the Hugh Lane Gallery, as well as in community centres and schools.

  • "Anca's class is definitely one of my favourite moments of the week. I have learnt so much about techniques, colours, even brushes. But what I love the most is that I feel free to create, choose my topics and if I am stuck, Anca will help. The atmosphere of the class is very friendly, and it is inspiring to see the creative work of others when painting. Also, the great music helps! ;) "

  • "I take this opportunity to express how much I have enjoyed your classes, what I have learnt and have been learning from you, a fabulous art teacher and an artist par excellence. I have learnt so much from you over the past years! I cannot thank you enough! I love the fact that your warmth is felt in your teaching and also your amazing art!"

    Anisha

  • "I have been attending Anca's art classes for few years now. As I have never studied art before I was a bit nervous about joining the class. Since day one I felt more than welcome and very relaxed. Anca is an amazing teacher and artist. I feel very honoured to be guided by such an inspiring person as Anca. She is so patient and generous with her guidance and support. There are students in the class that could create a masterpiece! But it doesn't matter as everyone is treated equally. Might I add that every painting we do has a little touch of that Anca magic to it."

    Marian

  • "I've been going to Anca's art class for two years now, once a week. She has a great way of guiding and supporting me through my projects. Thanks to her, l've improved my technique and discovered new things along the way (acrylic, oil painting). I really appreciate her help and how fun and inspiring the sessions are."

    Jade

  • "I joined Anca art classes around 10 months ago atter being at a workshop ran by Anca in the Hugh Lane Gallery. I went along to her studio to see what it was like. I just love the whole set up, it is a calm, relaxed, no-pressure art studio run by Anca who is such a lovely, warm, welcoming, professional teacher who encourages and guides you. It is a wonderful space, with a nice sense of community. I cannot recommend these classes enough. I guarantee you'll come back."

  • "Anca is an incredible teacher. She follows your lead but has the great skill of stepping in at just the right point to help you develop. If you are someone who likes to be free with your art or need to have a session to lose yourself in your work - she also provides a safe space in which you can do this. She provides an extremely warm atmosphere where the worries of the world tall away and she somehow manages to help you find magic focus. Also, she is just a fabulously warm human being. I have learned so much, particularly about sketching portraits and also about how to use oils I need more work in that area for sure!)."
